Kobo Welcomes Morgan Adler

Morgan Adler (‘94, Cleveland, OH) received a B.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2018. She has exhibited nationally along the eastern United States, and has attended an international residency outside of Amsterdam. Her practice uses paintings and drawings to explore the intersection of representation and abstraction by using the exterior world to express the interiority of emotion, experience, conflict, and resolution. She currently lives in Savannah, Georgia as a full-time artist, part-time framer, and founder of the artist collective- The Space Between.
"Intrigued by the stability, metaphor, and potential of a horizon, I paint to question the ability of multiple horizons and the barrier between physical and emotional landscapes. Limitations play a crucial role in my work- represented by fences, distance, ambiguous gestures, and lack of information. The paintings suggest a memory or event that hasn’t happened yet, refusing to indicate when or where we are."

"Her recent compositions are disorienting and fantastical, full of uncertain story, metaphor, and intrigue."
