In this moment in time, as we all suffer the pain from wars, conflicts and sharp political divisions, KOBO artist Marta McWhorter comes with a message of healing and reconciliation: “We all live under the same sun. We are one.”

The multi-talented McWhorter (she paints, draws and also works with wood and sound), makes her statement with an art Installation that immediately draws the attention of every visitor when they enter Kobo Gallery.

The installation titled Dot Block Line is, in the words of the artist, a commentary on reducing life down to its essence. Therefore, It is made with the simplest of materials: wood, threads, bobbins, gold leafed clay balls, brass and a string of LED lights.

“It’s about individuals and community and about how, even though we are all different, we are still comfortably the same too,” says McWorther.

The threads that connect walnut blocks to the rest of the installation all have a different color, but under the adjustable light they all cast the same shadow on the wall of KOBO gallery.

Dot Line Block is priced at $2,200, is a moveable installation, and can be reassembled by Marta at the location of your choosing.
