Bio

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., immigrated to New York City as a teenager, and then relocated to California in 1980. Currently resides in Savannah, GA and has been a professional artist in Savannah since 1998.

Artist Statement

My paintings are snapshots of life. I like to experiment with shapes, volumes, colors, and textures and to use objects I find as well. To me, painting is like an interpretation of daily events, a synthesis of fantasy and reality. It’s the pulses, vibrations, and oscillations of life. The paintings can be melting pots of fragrances and sounds movement through light and shadows, layers of life, depth, volume, and energy.

The art that I do is beyond spoken words. It is a language of its own, when it surfaces, as it manifests; I find that it is a state of being I had arrived at then and there. When it emerges spontaneously because of the process, I know that it is the activity of language of life. I accept it with gratitude.
